This is my selected archive of images featuring birds and other nature. It is a work in (occasional) progress, replacing my previous site tarsiger.co.uk.
Hopefully, you’ll notice a progression in quality over time, from scanned Canon AE1/A1 slides to grainy Canon 7D Mk1 images – and even some Nikon digiscoped attempts – to rather better, more recent Canon R3 images. However, I’m happy to say that the site has minimal photographic merit; it serves simply as an easy place to revisit images from my hobby and work.
I realise that WordPress (and its native Gallery facility) is not the best way to display images. While, WordPress is a fabulous Open Source utility in many ways, unfortunately it messes about with images! Behind the scenes, WordPress serves its own best resized version of each original image to suit the viewer’s destination browser and display. This gives me, as the website author, little control over the quality and size of the rendered image that is seen by you. I use an Apple Studio Display with 5120 x 2888 pixel resolution just to further complicate matters. If you know, you know!
